The circuit was established in 1953 as a rectangular 1.5 mile circuit. An extra loop was incorporated in 1954, increasing the circuit to its current length. Oulton Park is also a member of the Brands Hatch Group that has recently been acquired by Interpublic.

Located twelve miles to the east of Chester.
