Racing in the Catalunya area goes back many years on circuits such as Montjuic. Catalunya is a top class circuit which was opened in 1991 with support from the regional government with three different courses, the Grand Prix Circuit which is 4.727 m long; the National Circuit, 3.067 m long and the School Circuit, 1.703 m long.
