Cadwell Park was established as a racing venue in 1934, when Charles Wilkinson, whose father had bought the site in 1926, recognised its suitability for competitive motorcycle racing. The initial circuit was a three-quarter mile track of broken chalk laid around the old manor house. The track was extended to one and a quarter miles in 1952 and to its current length in 1961. It is now part of the Brands Hatch group, owned by Interpublic.

Cadwell Park is 10 miles north of Horncastle and 5 miles south of Louth, on the A153.
