YART Yamaha fastest – GMT94 Yamaha second, SERT Suzuki third, FCC TSR Honda fourth, Trickstar Kawasaki fifth – Moto Ain CRT ahead of Viltais Experiences in SuperStock – Final qualifying today
YART Yamaha Official EWC Team crushed the competition during the first round of qualifying for the 8 Hours of Slovakia Ring this afternoon. YART is ahead of GMT94 Yamaha and Suzuki Endurance Racing Team on the provisional starting grid.
YART Yamaha Official EWC Team dominated the first day of qualifying. Broc Parkes, Marvin Fritz and Kohta Nozane were the only riders to complete their fastest laps in 2’04. This puts YART Yamaha Official EWC Team on provisional pole, with nearly a one-second lead over GMT94 Yamaha.
Suzuki Endurance Racing Team is in third place, ahead of F.C.C. TSR Honda and Eva RT Webike Trick Star. The two Japanese teams managed to hold off the two BMW-mounted local teams EKO IV Racing BMW CSEU and Team LRP Poland.
Honda Endurance Racing, Maco Racing Team and Bolliger Team Switzerland round off the Top 10.
The Superstock teams waged a close fight for the spots starting from 11th place. Current World Cup standings topper Moto Ain CRT wrested the advantage today despite Hugo Clere experiencing a minor fall. Moto Ain CRT placed ahead of Yamaha Viltaïs Experiences on the provisional grid by merely one-tenths of a second. Next in line are Ecurie Chrono Sport and Völpker NRT48 Schubert Motors, in 13th and 14th place respectively. Tati Team Beaujolais Racing, which has a good chance of battling Moto Ain CRT for the FIM EWC World Cup, is in 16th place after the first day of qualifying.
The second qualifying starts at 10.30am today.
