Race24 Needs Sponsors to Stay Online: Help!...

No Official Site in 2009?

We've just received a press release from the FIM saying that "All information about 2009 FIM Endurance World Championship is on the new website www.fim-live.com".

This seems to mean that the official championship website at www.fim endurance.com will be replaced by the current "Endurance" section of the FIM's own site, at www.fim-live.com/en/sport/endurance/events/. The www.fimend urance.com site has not been updated this year.

So it looks as though there will be no official dedicated website for the World Endurance Championship this season.

Race24.com

For the last two seasons Race24.com has been acting as the unofficial voice of the championship. However, in the current financial climate it's not clear if I will be able to attend all of the races this year. It's become increasingly difficult to cover the costs of travel, accommodation and communications and with a strong Euro, a weak Pound and little interest in the championship from the UK press.

Running Race24 cost me quite a bit of money last year, and I can't afford to continue in the same way this year.

The last thing I want to see is for the championship to go unreported, so I need to find a way to make Race24 pay its way. Over the next couple of days I'm going to put together some advertising and sponsorship packages so that teams, individuals and companies can help keep Race24 online, and so help keep information about the championship available to the press and the public.

My first task is to raise the €90 necessary to get hooked up to the internet from the circuit press office at Le Mans. If anyone would like to help with this, please make a donation using this link and I will make sure that you, your sponsor or your company receive suitable recognition.

You don't need a Paypal account; you can just use a credit or debit card. And I'm not expecting one person to find the whole amount; ninety small contributions are just as welcome as one big one!
