Pirelli Set 24 Hour Tyre Record 3191 miles at 132.9mph on one set of tyres... Journalists and Pirelli staff set a new 24 hour tyre duration record at Italy's Nardo test circuit recently, logging 3,191 miles at an average speed of 132.9mph on a 2009 Suzuki Hayabusa and using just one set of Pirelli's new Angel ST sports-touring tyre.

Aboard a second motorcycle, a 2009 Kawasaki GTR 1400, the same team generated six additional records in the new class including a 12-Hour World Record of 1,555.2 miles with an average speed of 129.6 mph. Towards the end of the test the Kawasaki, ridden at the time by tester Michele Corallini, had a technical problem at the far side of the track. The Pirelli tester, who at 54 was also the oldest member of the team, pushed the bike for more than 2 hours to cover the last seven kilometres to cross the timing beam.
