Russell Benney announced today " I am very pleased to confirm the inclusion of Pedro Valcaneras in our 2009 line-up. Two weeks ago I was presented with a dilemma; Pedro unexpectedly made himself available for the whole season. He had been on my shopping list last autumn but due to a personal sponsor issue he could not do the full world championship, so I ruled him out. That situation then changed, so I decided to accept Pedro for the whole season in favour of Sebastian Scarnato who was available for only the short races.

"Damian, Pedro and Alex will make a fantastic team, fixed for the year. The continuity offered will be grasped and taken to its full advantage. It was particularly difficult in 2008 with the lack of rider continuity definitely playing its part in holding the team back from showing its full potential. Just a glance at the 2008 timing sheets shows very little speed difference between the Damain and Pedro and when you consider that it was Pedro's learning year at three of the circuits, it's all the more remarkable. Add to that his incredible late-in-the-race performances and we have a winning package.”
