Phase One's McBride Injured in TT Practice Crash Guy Martin Fastest in Superbike with 126mph lap... Phase One's Jimmy McBride crashed out of the Isle of Man TT races during yesterday's first Superstock timed practice session. He was holding fourth place with a best lap of 18:32.22 / 122.123mph, but was involved in a high speed incident at Gorse Lea in the final minutes of the session. According to the official press release he was taken to Nobles hospital in Douglas and is described as having “major fractures”.
Guy Martin was fastest in the Superbike class, recording a 17:57.83 / 126.020mph lap on his Hydrex Bikeanimal Honda Fireblade. Second in class was John McGuinness (17:58.34 / 125.960mph) on the Padgetts Honda, with Adrian Archibold (17:59.14 / 125.867) third on the AMA Suzuki. McBride recorded a now academic 18:30.16 / 122.349mph lap to take 12th place in the Superbike class, with fellow Phase One rider Jimmy Moore taking 40th place in Superbike with a 20:01.30 / 113.068mph lap. Occasional endurance competitor Roger Maher (19:71.71 / 117.325) was 22nd. Anstey Fastest in Superstock Bruce Anstey was quickest in Superstock, putting in a 17:58.46 / 125.946mph lap on his Relentless/TAS Suzuki. Guy Martin (18:14.61 / 124.088) was second and Cameron Donald (18:21.65 / 123.295mph) third. Roger Maher (19:07.98 / 118.319mph) was 16th, with Steve Plater (19:13.69 / 111.733mph) 18th on the AIM Yamaha. McGuinness Leads Supersport John McGuinness was fastest in Supersport, with an 18:27.84 / 122.606mph lap, ahed of Conor Cummins (18:37.94 / 121.498mph) and Ian Hutchinson (18:48.49 120.362mph). Steve Plater was 6th on 18:53.91 / 119.787mph. Qualifying Continues... Qualifying continues this evening, from 18:15 to 19:55 for solo classes and from 20:00 to 20:50 for sidecars.
