Robert Dunlop: Tragic News

Accident in North West 200 Qualifying...

Roadracer Robert Dunlop has died after suffering sever chest injuries in a crash during yesterday's 250cc qualifying for the North West 200 in Northern Ireland.

Dunlop's bike appeared to seize as he approached the Mathers Cross section of the course. Darren Burns suffered a suspected broken leg in the same accident but is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.

Dunlop had returned to racing after being seriously injured in a crash at the 1994 TT. His brother Joey was killed in a road racing accident in Estonia in 2000.

Our thoughts are with the Dunlop family, Robert's wife Louise and his children William, Daniel and Micheal.
