Pre-Le Mans: Kawasaki France Unofficially Fastest

'Radio Paddock' Times Put SERT Second, Bolli Third...

Thanks to Race24 Message Board regular 'Embedded' we seem to be the only source of news on the official pre-Le Mans tests that have been taking place at the French circuit this week. Here's the latest report from our man at Le Mans:

Finally back in front of my laptop and as anticipated some fresh news on the last two days testing at Le Mans!

Weather more than acceptable compared to last week's testing; first day cloudy and colder (air between 11-16°C), second day much better (max close to 20°C) and sunny in the afternoon.

So a perfect situation for testing by all teams present, several of them practically at their first shake-down with new bikes, riders, etc.

The following is a list of the more interesting teams present, with their tyre fitment and (if known and hopefully reliable) "radio paddock" lap times:

  • Kawasaki France (Pirelli) - best 1:38 high
  • SERT 1 & 2 (Dunlop) - best 1:39 low
  • Bolliger (Pirelli) - best 1:40 high
  • AM Moto (Dunlop) - 1:41 medium
  • Diablo 666 (Pirelli) - 1:41 medium
  • X-One (Pirelli) - best 1:42 low
  • Motors Mv (Pirelli) - best 1:42 low
  • No Limits (Pirelli) - 1:42 medium
  • National Motos (Michelin) - 1:42 medium
  • Acropolis 99 (Dunlop) - 1:42 medium
  • RMT21 (Pirelli) - best 1:42 high
  • RT Racing (Pirelli) - 1:43 low
  • LTG57 (Pirelli) - 1:43 low
  • Junior Team Lms - 1:43 high
  • QERT Team (Dunlop) - 1:43 high
  • Moto 45 (Michelin) - 1:43 high
  • Runner Bike (Dunlop) - 1:44 low
  • BMW 17 & BMW 71 (Pirelli) - 1:44 low
  • Raffin Motos 17 & 171 (Dunlop) - best 1:45 low
  • ABG (Pirelli) - 1:46 low
  • Race24 Morini (Bridgestone) – 2:13 high
  • Sapeurs-Pompiers (Dunlop) - unknown
  • RAC41 (Michelin) - unknown
  • Alf'S (Dunlop) - unknown
  • Metiss (Dunlop) - unknown
  • Ducati Endurance (Michelin) - unknown

The following teams were not present:

  • Folch (apparently involved in Spanish Endurance Champ)
  • Phase One (did not plan to attend second test)
  • YART (tested in southern Europe)
  • Maco Moto (unknown reason)
  • Moto38 & Moto74 (unknown reason)

Note finally that YART, Maco Moto, Moto38 and Moto74 missed practically both pre-Le Mans tests.

I hope the above information is interesting for further passionate discussions!

PS: Last but not least keep posted for the next unofficial testing scheduled by the Le Mans circuit on 15th and 16th April.

    Kawasaki France, Le Mans 2007

And on the 17th Race24.com will arrive at the circuit for the official timed sessions...
