Homologated for STK1000 and Formula WEC...

KTM's new RC8 sports bike has been homologated by the FIM for competition in the Superstock1000 and Formula WEC classes. This means that the 1148cc vee-twin is eligible to compete in the full FIM Endurance World Championship. We've seen KTMs running in the Open class at Oschersleben for the past couple of years, but this is the first time that the Austrian manufacturer will be able to score championship points.

This is just a first step toward the factory competing in the World Superbike Championship next year, but can we expect to see a KTM RC08 or two competing at Le Mans in April?

I hope so.

(Even though it does mean I've got to update the Bikes page just days after having finished it. I'll let them off only because they'll be running in the Race24 colour scheme...)
