The big news for British endurance fans is the signing of top TT and Road Racing star Micheal Dunlop to Team R2CL. Dunlop will ride the R2CL Suzuki GSX-R1000 alongside Anthony Loiseau and South African Clinton Seller, with team manager Gwin Giabbani as reserve. How the roads specialist will adapt to short-circuit, long distance racing remains to be seen, but he'll certainly be bike-fit for the forthcoming road racing season after a weekend at Le Mans.

The other news for die-hard Brit endurance fans is the fielding of three leading British riders by Wepol Racing Penz BMW. Micheal Laverty, Christian Iddon and Danny Webb (with Czech Marek Cerveny as resreve) will pilot the Penz BMW S1000RR. Rico Penzkoffer's team finished the Bol d'Or season opener in second place behind GMT94 and this is a serious drive for the world championship.

The two leading Yamahas of GMT94 (Mike diMeglio, Niccolo Canepa, David Checa) and YART Yamaha (Broc Parkes, Marvin Fritz, Takuya Fujita, Sheridan Morais) will be fighting tooth and nail on the track, while the adoption of FCC TSR by Honda France (Freddy Foret, Alan Techer, Josh Hook) see them go head to head with the other leading Honda of Honda Endurance Team (Sebastien Gimbert, Gregory Leblanc, Erwan Nigon), with National Motos (Emeric Jonchierre, Stephane Egea, Gaetan Gouget) also fielding a well pepared Fireblade.

SERT Suzuki will fly the GSX-R flag, with riders Vincent Philippe, Etienne Masson and Greg Black a safe choice. Meanwhile their Junior Team LMS siblings will field Hugo Clere, Alex Sarrabayrouse and Louis Rossi; always worth watching.

Other ones to watch include sole Italian entry No Limits (Luca Scassa, Christian Gamarino, Michael Mazzina), the ever-popular Girls Racing Team of Amandine Creusot, Bettina Pfister, Muriel Simorre and Jolanda Van Westrennen, and NRT48 BMW will once again feature Lucy Gloeckner alongside, Kenny Foray, Peter Hickman and Stefan Kerschbaumer.

A total of 60 teams have been admitted for entry with two more in reserve. Practice and qualifying start one week today, on Thursday 19th April.
