Team Force's Harris Suzuki will start tonight's Sunday Ride Classic round of the European Endurance Legend Cup classic endurance series from pole position, after riders Stephane Mertens, Gregory Fastre and Bruno Le Bihan put in an average qualifying time of 2:24.193.

Second on the grid has gone to the Motobel Moto Guzzi which is running in the Classic class; the beautifully turned out Italian twin averaged 2:25.001 in qualifying.

Third on the grid and fastest Legend class entry is the Team Taurus Harris F1, with a time of 2:25.625. The Godier Genoud Kawasaki Z1000J of Bruno Langlois and Alain Frattini was fifth (2:26.254) and Sweatshop Phase One have qualified in sixth place, with riders Pete Linden, Hugh Brasher and Graeme Gowland averaging 2:27.260 after a series of shakedown problems have afflicted the team; they hit gearbox problems in first qualifying and Linden was forced to push in with a flat battery in Q2.

Elsewhere in the paddock things are getting busier, with a constant stream of demonstration and support race bikes heading for the track and the celebrity riders stopping every five paces to sign autographs. Freddie Spencer is here with his two championship winning Hondas and a new Arai helmet with a replica of his original trademark colour scheme recreated in 1970s metalflake.

The EELC endurance race starts this evening at 20:00 local time, 19:00 UK time, and runs for four hours.
