Team Force and Team Edge Suzukis fastest – Phase One and Alf's swapping places – Guy Martin getting mobbed – Link to live timing and loads of pictures

Qualifying for tomorrow's Spa 4 Hour round of the European Classic Series endurance championship began this morning, although many teams took advantage of the trackday here yesterday to do some unofficial testing.

Fastest in the first session was Team Force's Greg Fastre (Suzuki F1, 2:43.169) with Kaiser Classic Endu Team's Oliver Skach (Bakker Kawasaki, 2.45.448) second and Team Edge's Nick Edgeley (Suzuki GS1100E, 1:45.796) third. Neate Racing (Honda) were fourth, Roadrunner (Suzuki GSX1100) fifth, the Sweatshop Phase One No.4 Suzuki was sixth and Alf's Kawasaki seventh.

Team Edge

Times were quicker in the second session, with Team Edge first, Team Force second, Kaiser Endu third, Motoport Uithoorn (Kawasaki Gpz 1100) fourth, Alf's Kawasaki fifth and Sweatshop Phase One sixth.

The Team Classic Suzuki ridden by Guy Martin and Pete Boast 23rd in the first session, improving to 11th in the second. Guy Martin is being mobbed by photographers whenever he makes an appearance, distracting from some of the quicker teams.

Access to the paddock and pits is very open and informal this weekend, and so far the promised rain has stayed away.
