GMT94 Yamaha win incident packed race – Penz Wepol BMW second – Honda Endurance Racing third after nail-biting finish – Schubert Motors BMW fourth - Tati Team Beaujolais Kawasaki top SuperStock
The GMT94 Yamaha of David Checa, Nicolo Canepa and Mickael di Megio has won the Bol d'Or 24 Hour race, the first race in the 2017/18 FIM Endurance World Championship season.
The Penz Wepol BMW was second with the Honda Endurance Racing team third and Schubert Motors BMW fourth after spending the last three or four hours fighting, coming down to a nail-biting final fifteen minutes of dicing between Sebastien Gimbert and Lucy Gloeckner. And incredible end to a fascinating race. The Tati Team Beaujolais Kawasaki was sixth overall and the first SuperStock bike across the line.
This was an incident packed race with many of the leading teams dropping out due to crashes and mechanical failures. More to follow later...
