Michelin Power Honda took the lead at the start of the race, but they were soon passed by Phase One. The British team held the lead until just before the first round of pit stops, when Yamaha Austria took first place.

Michelin Power pitted for longer than expected with apparent mechanical problems, and from then on the race become a tooth and nail battle between Yamaha Austria and Phase One. BK Maco Moto had looked like they could be in contention for a podium finish until a crash for Jason Pridmore took them out of the running.

In the latter stages Phase One eased off to settle for second place, allowing Yamaha Austria an unchallenged run to the flag. The pace car came out thirty minutes before the end of the race after RMT21 dropped oil on the track, but the incident was quickly resolved.

Bolliger Kawasaki were third, the Sapeurs Pompiers fourth and QERT Suzuki finished in fifth place and were the first Superstock team across the line. The Austrians were the only team to score points in every race this season.
