SERT, Bolliger, Folch, YART, Phase One...

SERT Suzuki have taken provisional pole position for Saturday's Qatar 8 Hour round of the FIM World Endurance Championship after today's first round of qualifying.

The grid positions are based on the average times of each team's riders. SERT recorded an average of 2:02.808 after both Lagrive (2:02.004) and Da Costa (2:02.410) put in two of the fastest times of the day. SERT's third man Dietrich only managed a 2:04.010.

Bolliger Kawasaki put in an average time of 2:03.563, with Muff lapping in an impressive 2:02.496. Yamaha Folch benefitted from only having two riders, with an average of 2:03.775, while Yamaha Austria recorded an average of 2:03.781.

Yamaha Phase One's Glen Richards was one of only four riders to dip into the 2:02s, lifting their average to 2:04.027 and securing 5th place on the grid. Maco Moto are sixth on 2:05.013 with their fastest rider being Smrz with a 2:03.274 lap.

Kawasaki Bolliger (2:05.319) are seventh, QERT Suzuki (2:05.414) are eighth with Mashel Al Naimi's local knowledge helping him record a 2:03.962. LTG57 Yamaha (2:05.891) are ninth and RT Racing MotoVirus Suzuki are tenth on 2:06.109.

British riders Tony Jordan and Tim Stevens (...it says here. On the entry list they have different names, and are from Qatar) on their Superstock Suzuki GSX-R1000 are rounding out the grid with an average of 2:21.800. The 115% cut-off time to qualify for the race is currently around the 2:21.229 mark.

Qualifying continues tomorrow from 10:00am local time (07:00 GMT, 08:00 CET) until 11:50am local time. (8:50 GMT, 9:50 CET).
