Warm Up: SERT 1 Crash, Honda 3rd Phase One Riders Finally Confirmed... Warm Up - Cold, Wet, Dry, Sunny This morning's warm up session took place under changeable conditions which saw rain, a cold wind and occasional spells of bright sunshine. Kawasaki France were quickest with a time of 1:52.937, SERT Suzuki No.1 (1:54.344) were second and National Motos (1:55.531) came from nowhere to post the third fastest time.

Grip was unpredictable; SERT Suzuki No.1 crashed at the start of the session and many other riders were spinning their tyres out of the slower corners. The weather could turn out to be the deciding factor in this race.

Phase One Riders: Haydon, Cudlin… and McBride Phase One team manager Russell Benney has finally been able to confirm the team's rider line up: "We had another late change of rider, but I'm happy that we've finally got a strong team for the race. Stephane Duterne crashed and didn't show the right mental spirit needed for the race, so we've gladly settled on a rider line up of James Haydon, Damian Cudlin and our reserve rider James McBride. A nice balance, I think. James is a roads specialist, but displays good wet weather qualities, and I think as a support rider to the other two highly experienced and fast guys he won't be a problem at all."

Tyres - Wet, Dry or Intermediate One of the toughest decisions facing teams this weekend will be tyre choice. Teams using Dunlop tyres are claiming that the Pirellis are better in intermediate conditions, while those on Pirelli insist that Dunlops are better when the track is fully wet. There are also stories in the paddock that supplies of Pirelli tyres might run low during the race.
New ZX10R - Same Power, Better Handling Bolliger Kawasaki have switched to the new, 2008 ZX10R while their sister team Diablo are still using the previous model. Hanspeter Bolliger - a man of few words - described the new bikes engine "as about the same" while the chassis is, "much better. Shorter, easier to turn."
