Final Qualifying: SERT No.1 Hold First Place Maco Moto Close In On Phase One - Ducati Beat BMW... Today's qualifying sessions were dry but cold, with few teams improving significantly on yesterday's times.
Vincent Philippe, SERT Suzuki No.1
SERT Suzuki No.1's Da Costa and Lagrive were the fastest two riders today, confirming their team's place at the head of the provisional grid, with an average time of 1:38.482. Second was Yamaha GMT94 (1:38.802), with Team Kawasaki France (1:39.208) third, SRT Suzuki No.2 (1:39.211) fourth and Yamaha Austria (1:40.289) fifth.
David Checa, Yamaha GMT94
Bolliger Kawasaki (1:40.698) were sixth, Motors-TV MV Agusta (1:41.042) eighth, Folch Yamaha (1:41.726) 11th and Yamaha Phase One (1:42.206) 15th. Phase One's Haydon and Cudlin were both significantly faster than the now departed Duterne, so the team's race performance could improve with a different rider on board.
