Jason Pridmore Fit for Bol Despite Rumours

Maco Moto's Jason Pridmore did not ride for Alto Evolution at this weekend's Donington Park round of the World Superbike Championship, his place being taken by AMA racer and SBK rookie Matt Lynn.

Reports on RoadRacingWorld.com (www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=34023) say that Pridmore did not race at Donington because, to quote the team, "Doctors say that Pridmore has a compartment syndrome of the left forearm...and now he was forbidden to race until the treatment indicated by the doctors be concluded."

However, RoadRacingWorld.com contacted Pridmore at the California Players Tour golf tournament in Lompac, USA. "I'm not hurt," he said, "I'm good enough to ride a 24-hour endurance race the next weekend, with Maco Moto endurance at the Bol d'Or." Pridmore described the situation with the team as a contract (and timely payment) dispute.

Lagrive, Gowland, Checa, Gimbert and Kagayama all Race-Fit

Some other World Endurance riders *did* manage to spend their weekend on track rather than at the golf course. SERT's Mattheiu Lagrive finished 9th in World Supersport race, holding on to 12th in the championship standings. Phase One's Graeme Gowland was 20th in the same race.

In World Superbike, GMT94's Checa was 11th in race 1 and retired from race 2, while his team mate Gimbert retired from both races. No doubt both riders had their eye on the coming Bol d'Or, one of the season's most important for the GMT94 team. Race24 Morini's Yukio Kagayama finished a lap down on the leaders in race 2 after finishing 5th in race 1, his thoughts also on the coming weekend.

Yamaha Austria's Steve Martin had the best idea, staying warm and dry in the commentary box all weekend.
