Albacete 6H: First Qualifying - Dry, Damp, Wet SERT, TKF, Folch, Catala, Yart - Then Rain Stops Play... This afternoon's First Qualifying sessions have suffered from the changeable weather that also hit Free Practice. 
SERT Suzuki, Vincent Philippe
The first group of riders had a totally dry half hour session, with SERT Suzuki's Vincent Philippe putting in a business-as-usual 1:31.315 second lap, 0.2 seconds faster than second placed Julian Mazuecos (1:31.524) on the Team Kawasaki France bike. Third fastest was Daniel Ribalta (1:32.766) on the Folch Yamaha, with Josep Sarda (1:32.781) for Suzuki Catala close behind. Yamaha Austria's Igor Jerman (1:32.842) was the only other rider to lap below the 1:33 mark. 
Team Kawasaki France, Julian Mazuecos
The second group's session started dry but a light rain began to fall after ten minutes, calling a halt to proceedings for most teams. Kawasaki France's Erwan Nigon was the only rider in the 1:31s in this session, with a 1:31.605. YART's Steve Martin put in a 1:33.133, and Suzuki Catala's Kenny Noyes recorded a 1:33.568. The rain hung around for the third group's qualifying session, with the fastest time of 1:46.215 set by Bruno Performance Suzuki's Josep Monge. Gossip Corner Just for the record, the Kenny Noyes riding for Suzuki Catala is the son of respected bike racing journalist Dennis Noyes, and *not* Kenny Noyes the former Essex criminal.
