Albacete 6H: Free Practice 1 and 2 on Dryish Track Kawasaki France, YART Fastest - Plus Gossip Corner... Alabacete 6H Live Timing: www.circuitoalbacete.es/cronoonline.aspToday's free practice sessions have seen a mixture of wet and dry tracks, but most teams have managed to set times on a dry circuit.
Torrential rain yesterday, showers today, and tomorrow...
The fastest overall time was set by Kawasaki France, with riders Mazuecos, Nigon and Carrasco recording a time of 1:33.752 in the first session. Yamaha Austria were the only other team to dip into the 1:33s, with a 1:33.797 set by Jerman, Martin and Plater in the first session. SERT Suzuki's Philippe, Dietrich and Da Costa were third quickest (1:34.194), with Bruno Performance Suzuki's Casas, Cabana and Monge (1:34.285) fourth and Folch Yamaha's Ribalta, Valcaneras and Tomas (1:34.712) fifth quickest. The first timed qualifying sessions are scheduled for 16:30 to 18:20 CET this afternoon, with two night practice sessions at 21:30 and 22:35 CET. Gossip Corner Entry to the circuit is free this year, in an effort to attract more spectators to the race. It's just a shame about the forecast weather and the total lack of any support races. Gwen Giabbani is not at the circuit this weekend, but *is* looking for a World Endurance ride for the rest of the season, having apparently been "given the brush off" by Kawasaki France manager Christian Bourgeois Maco Moto were about a second faster than Phase One in both sessions, but according to a Maco insider, "We're on speaking terms now". At this point Jason Pridmore piped up; "I'm not. And you can f*cking quote me on that", but we wouldn't want to stoke any fires so, we won't.
