Spanish Teams and Riders – Ones to Watch This is from Mark, our Spanish correspondent on the Race24 Message Board: “As mentioned in the Albacete preview, there will be a lot of interest in seeing the performance of Folch at home. “But let me tell you, dears friends of Race24, that there are two more local teams of high, high level on the entry list, capable of running in the top-ten zone, stealing vital points from the permanent teams: Bruno Performance and Suzuki Català “Bruno Performance are a brand new team, but the mechanics and the riders who compose the teams are veterans of Barcelona 24 Hours. Victor Casas won the 24h in 2003, Salvador Cabana also won it in 2003. Josep Monge has never won this race, but he is also a good rider (MV Agusta team member and Michelin tyre tester). “Suzuki Català have a lot of experience in endurance too: they're the only team capable of beating Folch in Spain. In fact the team won the Barcelona 24 hours in 2003, 2005 and 2006. The manager is Eduard Català, a good "stratega". Kenny Noyes has made good results at the Barcelona 24h, Bernat Martinez took a second place at the 24h, and Josep Sardà took pole there last yea and he's a fast rider (but I think he's a little bit of a "crasher"). Also he's one of the favourites from the CEV (the Spanish championship) and he always puts on show, sliding in most of the corners. “So take care to take a look on the track at these guys.” Judging by the latest official championship release, it look like some people already are :o) Got some World Endurance news? send it to info@redleg.co.uk |
