Oschersleben 24 Hour Entry List Briefing The entry list for the tenth running of the Oschersleben 24 Hour race seems to be changing every days, so rather than a full analysis of which rider is riding for which team (it'll all have changed by the time you've finished reading this page anyway) here are some of the more notable entries: Bike Update Oschersleben has built up a good reputation for attracting some less than mainstream entries, and while it doesn't look as though there are any new entries for the weirdness award, there are plenty of old faithful oddities back for another crack. No.17 and No.71: BMW Motorrad Motorsport. We *think* these should be down as R1200S like the ones that raced at Le Mans, although they're listed as K1200S. Riders are Hinterreiter, Penzkofer, Barth and Kern (17) and Panichi, Ottl and Cooper (71).
KTM Dealer Team SuperDuke No.34 at Osch 2006
No.34 and No.53: KTM Dealer Team. The Dukes are back, long live the Dukes. Well, the KTM SuperDukes, anyway. Roth, Bitter and Schmidt (34) and Schitttko, Kopp and Zeyen will be the ones trying to keep the front end down. No.85: Codu Racing Team. MZ's 1000S was the surprise package of a couple of years ago, and here's one that's back for more No.40 and No.48: TSV Volpke Schubert Motors. We think these ones really are K1200Ss. No.54: Evers - ZAB. That Triumph Daytona 955i is back *again*. No.110: Polizei NRW. Another Triumph Daytona, but it could be a Daytona 675. Maybe. Last but not Least: Harely Davidson Racing Bonn. The Nico Bakker framed VRSC-RR Harley is set for a second go at Oschersleben.

Rider Update Phase One Endurance had a mystery rider lined up for Oschersleben, but before we could find out who he was, he injured himself (or maybe herself?) at the Brands Hatch World Superbike round and won't be fit to ride in Germany. Amadeus X One's Will Gruy is amongst those who have been ruled out of riding at Oschersleben due to injury; he broke his pelvis in a road bike accident a couple of months back and isn't fit enough for a 24 hour race. FCC TSR Eurosport have an all European line-up for Osch, in the shape of Arno Visscher (NED). Heinz Platacis (GER) and Mike Veldhuijzen (NED). Somehow, I think the Japanese names would have been easier to spell. Kawasaki France are back for Osch with Plater, Giabbani and Mazuecos; we just want to know why they didn't go to Suzuka. Damian Rowley and Maco Moto have parted company; Rowley is rumoured to be chasing the seat at Ten Kate Honda that Toseland's move to MotoGP will free up, while Maco Moto might possibly be in talks with Steve Martin (every other Yamaha team is, after all). That's it for now, unless you know differently… Got some World Endurance news? send it to info@redleg.co.uk |
