Bol d'Or 24 Hour - Final Qualifying and Night Practice SERT No1 1st, TKF 2nd, SERT No.2 3rd - Plague of Locusts Descends The grid positions for tomorrow's race will be based on the average lap times of the tree riders from each team who will race. SERT Suzuki No.1 was the only team with all three riders in the 1:41s. Full results are here: Bol d'Or Live Timing
Vincent Philippe, SERT Suzuki No.1
The fastest outright qualifying lap went to SERT Suzuki's Vincent Philippe, on 1:41.118. Kawasaki France's Gwen Giabbani was second quickest on 1:41.210, SERT's Julian da Costa was third on 1:41.425 and Yamaha Austria's Steve Martin was fourth fastest on 1:41.558, despite a minor crash towards the end of his session.
Steve Martin, Yamaha Austria
Damian Cudlin has not adjusted from Yamaha R1 to Kawasaki ZX10R as quickly as he had hoped. Speaking before yesterday's night practice, he commented: "The Kawasaki's got a lot more power, but it's harder to use. I'm really fighting it round here. I'm getting quicker each time out and I've got a few sessions to go yet. It'll be right."
Damian Cudlin, Maccio Kawasaki
The fastest team in night practice was Cudlin's team Maccio Kawasaki No.111, with a lap time of 1:43.097 in the second session. Fastest in the first session was Kawasaki France, on 1:43.404, but Yamaha GMT94 were second quickest in both sessions, setting times of 1:43.409 and 1:43.430. One of the biggest problems for the teams near the entrance to pit lane was the plague of locusts swarming around every light. It must be divine retribution for something, but no one is quite sure what.
Locusts, yesterday.
