Hours 4 and 5

Night racing. A blur of high-intensity headlights, led taillights and multicoloured marker lights tunnelling through the chill Spanish night.

FCC TSR Honda

Kawasaki France, SERT Suzuki and Folch Yamaha still hold the top three positions. QERT are 4th and Bolliger Kawasaki have moved in front of FCC TSR to take 5th.

Yamaha Phase One Endurance

Yamaha Austria are up to 11th place and in the points while Phase One are 19th despite currently being one of the fastest bikes on the track, second only to Kawasaki France.

Team Amadeus X One throw up some sparks

Temperatures have dropped significantly but the rain that threatened to fall just before dusk has blown over. With an hour to go it seems that Kawasaki France have beaten SERT at their own game; establish an early lead and then keep the pressure going throughout the race.

Start and Hour 1

Philippe on the SERT Suzuki made a clean start and led the opening laps, but Mazuecos on the Kawasaki France bike quickly caught and passed him to take the lead. After 30 minutes he had opened up a 10 second gap on the Suzuki, with QERT third.

Yamaha Austria, Bolliger Kawasaki and Yamaha Phase One were locked in a scrap for fourth place until Phase One's Van Keymeulen and Yamaha Austria's Scarnato collided at the first turn. Both bikes were repaired quickly and returned to the race, but in 39th and 40th place, some 11 laps down on the leaders.

Here we go for another climb back through the field

The FCC TSR Honda made a poor start but powered its way through the field, from 24th place to 6th by the end of the first hour, showing dominant acceleration and top speed.

A little bit of Suzuak brought to Spain...

Diablo's Alex Cudlin has lifted the team from the 18th place start to 8th by the first round of stops, but the story of this race so far is the lead pulled out in the first hour by Kawasaki France, beating SERT at their own game.
