Team Kawasaki France: 1st place

Steve Plater: "Because we are now very close to the series lead, just one point behind the Team Suzuki current world champions we will definitely be contesting the third round in Suzuka. It's good to be back at the top of the podium and it feels really nice to be in contention for a world championship title."

Yamaha Austria: 9th place

Damian Cudlin: "To sum it up, I guess we just had one of those days. These things can happen in racing, so you just have to take the good with the bad. The main thing is Seb (Scarnato) is going to be ok, and Igor and I rode really well to come back from where we were.

"The bike worked well here, the Pirelli's were up to the job, and I personally rode a lot better than I did in Le Mans, so I'm happy about that. We should have been on the box here, and I can feel we are getting stronger all the time, so I know the results will show that soon. We just need a bit of luck to swing our way!"

Cudlin Snr rejoins the race

Mandfred Kainz, team manager: "It just wasn't our weekend this time, and when something like this takes you out of the race for a podium place it's very disappointing.

"But my boys did a great job fighting back to 9th, and our pit crew were faultless. Overall we performed very well, we just didn't get the trophies to prove it, but if we continue to build from this I'm sure we'll get our chance for more silverware very soon."

Diablo 666 Kawasaki: 15th place

Alex Cudlin: "Although I have raced bikes all my life and have raced in World Endurance for a year and a half now, I have never actually done a Le mans start, so I was a little nervous. I just didn't want to let the team down"

Alex, James and Ray illustrate the effects of perspective during a brief mathematical moment before the race. The crowd show their appreciation.

Yamaha Phase One: 18th place

Russell Benny, team manager: "What started with great promise on Friday turned into a real disaster by the end of the race. We've been testing here for three days back in March and that gave us a great head start. We finished the first and the second free practice sessions in second place, qualified fourth in the first session and consolidated that to fifth on the grid.

"So it was great start, but the early promise quickly evaporated, unfortunately. We were lying in a steady fifth or sixth position about half an hour or so into the race when Didier Van Keymeulen regrettably crashed, t-boning one of our rivals - Yamaha Austria - in an embarrassing incident. That lost us 11 laps, a set-back which in a six hour race we couldn't' recover from.

"I think what was encouraging was that we were well on the pace of the SERT Suzuki, ahead of Yamaha Austria and pretty much even with running in the top three."

Nowland pits for fuel and tyres

Warwick Nowland: "Didier was trying to stay with the leaders, I think Sebastian may have been holding him up a little and he could see Philippe (Suzuki) and the Kawasaki making a break. It's really unfortunate.

"This series is only 6 rounds so we are out of the hunt now. I feel for Didier, he told me he doesn't want to start an Endurance race again because he was too aggressive. He sat in the garage for the whole race, beaten up and feeling terrible. It's a hard thing to handle but its part of this sport. We will all come back more determined. There is a strong feeling in the team, I still believe we can win a race this year".

Maco Moto 114: 23rd place

Damian Rowley: "After the disappointment of our bad Le Mans I arrived at the circuit full of confidence. Albacete was good for me last year as we picked up our first World Championships points so I knew we were capable of a top 15 finish.

"The news that Leroy and myself were to ride together on the 06 bike was not the best way to start the weekend but we made the best and got the bike working as well as we could on some 2004 dated rubber.

Maco Moto No.114 in the process of beating the Maco Moto No.14

"The race went fairly well until about the 1 hour 40 point when I brought the bike back in 19th place and handed over to Leroy. He headed out, then he was back with fuel pouring out of the filler caps, then he was off again then back, this steadily dropped us down to around 29th.

"This problem came back again after a later stop and would cost us even more valuable time. We finally end up 23rd and still no points in the championship. It's a very frustrating when things like this are out of your control, but with Suzuka we'll be hoping to kick start our championship."
